The delegation conducted an on-site review of the company’s development, innovative R&D, and construction progress of Hainan R&D and Manufacturing Base. The inspection tour was accompanied by Fan Shaojun, Member of the Standing Committee of the Hainan Provincial Committee and Secretary of the Haikou Municipal Committee; Zhang Yong, Mayor of Haikou; Yang Zhongcheng, Director-general of the Policy Research Office of the Hainan Provincial Committee; Qi Shuli, Director of the Hainan Development and Reform Commission; Ji Tiejun, Director of the Hainan Medical Products Administration; Wang Yuan, Deputy Director-General of the Hainan Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology.

During the inspection, Huang Anjun, Executive Director and CEO of Dermavon, gave a briefing to Secretary Feng and the accompanying delegation on the Company’s development strategy, innovative R&D layout, and the construction progress of its Hainan R&D and Manufacturing Base. Focusing on major skin diseases, Dermavon has developed a differentiated portfolio covering dermatological prescription products and dermatology-grade skincare products, while continuing to enhance its integrated capacities covering R&D, manufacturing and commercialization. The main structure of the Hainan R&D and Manufacturing Base will soon be topped out. Going forward, Dermavon will capitalize on the strengths of the biopharmaceutical pillar industry of the Hainan Free Trade Port to further enhance its capacity for industrializing innovative products.

During the discussion, Huang Anjun introduced Dermavon’s innovative drug Ruxolitinib Phosphate Cream (Lumirix®), in-licensed from Incyte, as a successful outcome of the “Lecheng R&D and Clinical Use + Haikou Manufacturing” model. Government authorities at all levels in Hainan provided efficient guidance and strong support throughout the advancement of the product, laying a solid foundation for its accelerated launch on the domestic market, and establishing a complete Hainan-based pathway to introduce global innovative medicines into China.

Secretary Feng affirmed Dermavon’s business model centered on skin health and innovation. He encouraged the company to further leverage the advantages of the healthcare industry at the Hainan Free Trade Port, deepen synergy between the innovation and industrial chains, grow together with regional industry partners, and bring more high-quality innovative products to patients.

The visit shows the recognition of Dermavon’s innovation development achievements and highlights Hainan’s strong commitment to innovation and the translation of scientific and technological achievements in the biopharmaceutical sector. Dermavon will continue to advance the high-standard, efficient construction of its Hainan R&D and Manufacturing Base, increase investment in R&D and talent recruitment, and speed up the industrial translation of innovative products. By converting the Hainan Free Trade Port’s policy dividends into its driving forces for industrial development, Dermavon will continue contributing to the expansion of Hainan’s biopharmaceutical industrial cluster and the upgrading of the Free Trade Port’s healthcare industry.
