September 21-24, GASTRO 2013 APDW / WCOG (Asian Pacific Digestive Week / World Congress of Gastroenterology) was held in the expo center in Shanghai. The congress consisted of WGO, WEO, APDW and Chinese Medical Association (digestive, endoscopy, hepatology and surgery). More than 3000 gastroenterology experts from all over the world got together in Shanghai, the oriental pearl in China. It was an unprecedented event in the gastroenterology domain.
5:30 pm, GASTRO 2013 opening ceremony was held in the red hall of the center of the expo. Congress President and CSDD Chairman- Dai Ming Fan, APDWF and Congress Co-Chair -Kwong Ming Fock, Congress Co-Chair- Richard Kozarek, WGO President – Henry Cohen, WEO President – Jerome Waye, the Vice-chairman of the National People∮s Congress (NPC) and the chairman of the Chinese Medical Association – Zhu Chen and the vice mayor of Shanghai – Weng Tiehui were the special guests, and the director of the Xiking hospital -professor Wu Kaichun presided over the opening ceremony.
